Education Leader Information
School Leaders provide a critical role in helping to select and encourage teachers to engage in LIFT2. They provide active support during and following the program as their teachers work to integrate the experience into the school district and translate it for the benefit of their students.
Education Leaders Include:
District Leaders- Superintendent, Deputy and Assistant Superintendent, K-12 Coordinator, Curriculum Coordinator
School Leaders - Principal, Assistant Principal, Team Leader
Instructional Leaders - Department Head, Subject Matter Coordinator, Interdisciplinary Coordinator

- Understand what they need to do and provide in order to sustain the STEM instructional initiative in their schools and districts.
- Identify policies and practices that promote and support STEM professional development programs integrating authentic industry applications into standards-based curriculum.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve STEM instruction and student performance through embedded professional development that connects the 21st century workplace to classroom instruction.
- Nurture teachers as instructional leaders and as liaison to corporate partners based on successful and repeated industry externships .
- Actively engage in professional development and industry awareness events to expand their understanding of key trends driving Massachusetts ' knowledge-based economy and the implication of these trends when preparing students for 21st Century careers.
- Improve their ability to articulate the case for technology infrastructure and professional development resources required to maintain a critical mass of skilled teachers who can substantially influence student awareness, interest and achievement in STEM curriculum.
