LIFT2 Program Commitment
The Metro South/West Regional Employment Board and LIFT2 agrees to:
- Match qualified teachers to externship opportunities.
- Recruit teachers into LIFT2 based on the availability of externships and the match of their skills and interests to the available externships. Up to three pre-screened candidates will be presented to the sponsor company for interview and selection.
- Present teacher candidates to sponsor companies during February-April. Teachers will be enrolled in the LIFT2 program once their externship placement is confirmed.
- Engage the company mentor to provide a context for the learning goals of the externship.
- Provide ongoing support to both the mentor and teacher to ensure a mutually successful outcome.
- Pay weekly stipends to teachers based on timesheets approved by the company mentor.
- Process appropriate income reporting for tax purposes.
- Secure Workers Compensation insurance.
