LIFT2 Externship Process
The LIFT2 program team makes every effort to secure corporate sponsorship and match each applicant to an appropriate summer industry externship.
- LIFT2 program team begins recruiting corporate sponsors in the Fall and asks for written commitments from companies by the end of March.
- Sponsors provide a description of the externship opportunity including the location, duration (number of weeks) and summary description of the work assignment.
- Teachers are asked to identify up to three externship preferences from the inventory of placement opportunities.
- LIFT2 program director pre-screens teachers based on education, skills and experience required by the sponsor companies. Up to three candidates are presented for consideration/interviews from February—May.
- To enroll in the LIFT2 program, teachers must secure an externship placement.
